The beloved third-person adventure game Stray, where players become cats, just welcomed more players.

Annapurna Interactive on November 19 launched Stray on Nintendo Switch. In addition, the game is available both physically and digitally. Publishers collaborated with distributor Skybound Games for the physical edition of the Switch version. It features a complete edition of the game.

Players can buy the physical and digital editions for US$39.99.

To celebrate the launch, Annapurna Interactive also released a new Nintendo Switch trailer.

Stray is developed by indie game developer BlueTwelve Studio. It first came out to PC and PlayStation consoles in 2022. It earned high marks on PC and PS5, becoming the best single-player games on PS5 and PC.

In the game, gamers step into the paws of a stray cat navigating a neon-drenched cybercity. There, they find a world filled with mysteries, quirky droids, and lurking dangers.

Stray follows the journey of the titular stray cat as it searches for a way out of the mysterious city. At the same time, unravelling its dark history.

Along the way, players are joined by a drone companion, B-12, who aids in communication with the city’s inhabitants. B-12 also provides tactical support during dangerous encounters.

The game mimics a feline’s ability and physical traits. This means players can traverse high rooftops and dimly lit alleys while solving environmental puzzles and fending off hostile creatures. Stray also encourages a mix of stealth, agility, and playfulness.

Since its debut, Stray has been lauded for its innovative gameplay and emotional depth. Gamers and critics alike praised its ability to’ deliver a unique perspective through the eyes of a feline protagonist.’

Stray has also earned awards and nominations across the gaming industry. This included being shortlisted in Best Game of the Year in The Game Awards 2022. It was also included in whatoplay’s 2022 Games of the Year.

The game is already available on platforms including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox, PC via Steam, and Mac.
